"Your Account" Page

This part of the "Your Account" Page shows the last few trickles that were received by the Climateprediction.net (CPDN). This kind of "Credit" accumulation can be used when there is a very long run time for the model. The Climateprediction.net (CPDN) has models that can take up to a month to complete; even on fast computers. For this reason, credit is granted in increments as portions of the model are completed. The "Trickle Message" reports are made every 72 "Time-Steps", each of which takes roughly 9 hours; again on a fast computer (by fast we are thinking of an Intel P4, 3.4 GHz or equivalent).

Because there is only one run made of the specific model that the Participant processes this is a great way to run the Project. The Participants get almost immediate gratification with Credit being granted on the fly (as it were).

[edit] Field by Field

[edit] Time Sent (UTC)

This field indicates the time when the Project received the information generated by the Participant's computer for the model. In this case, the primary information that is sent (as far as I know) is just the state of the model in the number of time steps completed and the amount of CPU Time expended. The time is recorded in UTC so you may need help in converting the time into your local time zone.

[edit] Host ID

The Host ID is the identification number that the the Climateprediction.net (CPDN) maintains for a specific computer that is owned by a Participant and is used in the Project. The Host ID value is, in essence, the identifying number that is used in the the Climateprediction.net (CPDN)'s database. If you click on the link, you will be taken to the location on the Project's Web Site where there is a "Computer Summary" Page.

[edit] Result ID

The Result ID is the identification number of a specific Result that was returned by the Participant to the Project. The information about the Result, may, or may not be completely displayed. In other words, there is more under the covers.

[edit] Result Name

The Result Name is the "human readable" name of the data file that is returned to the Project by the Participant.

[edit] Phase

The Phase is an indicator of where the processing was at, when this "Trickle", for this model being processed by the Participant, when the "Trickle" was returned.

[edit] Time step

The Time-Step denotes where, once again, the processing was at when the the "Trickle" was returned.

[edit] CPU Time (sec)

This lists the accumulated CPU Time that has been consumed by this particular model as it has been processed by the Participant.

[edit] Average (secTS)

Following close behind is a metric that indicates how efficiently the model is being processed by the Participant's computer as the number of seconds it takes to process a complete time step.
