Your Account Page - Profile Section
From Unofficial BOINC Wiki

[edit] General
Your Profile is a summarization of you and your interests, hobbies, and so forth for a specific BOINC Powered Project and the links to access your Profile information is shown on the "Profile" Page.
In essence you have the opportunity to embellish, ahem, give forth on the way you would wish us to think of you. Right, I will believe everything you say, just like you will believe me.
[edit] Line by Line
In the first example shown you can see that there is a "Create" link which takes you to a place where you can access the "Create Your Profile" Form. What this tells us is that no Profile was created for this Account at this time.
Once we have clicked that link and have created and saved a Profile, we will then see different links in the same place. Now we have links that will allow us the opportunity to embellish, ahem, correct our omissions within the Profile we have created.
Well, on the Internet no one knows your are a cat (fooled you, Ha!).
There are only two options available here, one is to view/edit the Profile and the other is to delete the Profile in its entirety.
If you click on the "View or Edit Profile" link you will be taken to the "Profile" Page where you can edit the Profile by clicking on the "Edit Your Profile" link as shown in "Profile" Page.
After a Profile has been created, and you decide you do not wish to display the Profile information as part of your Account Information, you can click on the "Delete" link to eliminate the Profile. There is a "Are you sure?" question that protects against accidental deletion actions if you mis-click on the page.
[edit] Deleting a Profile
If you want to regain some of your privacy, you can delete the Profile information that you had previously made so that you can sink back into obscurity.
To accomplish the task of becoming more obscure, you click on the "Delete" link.
Once you have clicked the "Delete" Link, since the BOINC Web Site software only allows you to delete the entire Profile, it will ask you once, and once only, "Are you sure?"
If you do not want to delete your Profile you can use the back button on your browser which, of course, will not perform the deletion.
If you click the "Delete" button. Poof! all of that information you gathered and entered is now gone for good and the only way to get it back is to re-enter all of the information; or to live without a Profile from now on.
So, you have been warned. Only click the "Delete" button if you are sure. You are sure, aren't you?
After your profile has been deleted you will get this confirmation message indicating that your Profile has been deleted. Trust me, your Profile is gone!
