Shared memory file can't be created because it already exists, error -144

This error results from trying to start BOINC twice. You may have

Tried to start BOINC when it is already running. Action: Avoid doing this.
Have BOINC in more than one startup folder. Action: Remove all but one.
Have BOINC in a startup folder and be running as a service. Action: Remove from all startup folders.
