Access Right
From Unofficial BOINC Wiki
[edit] General
A system of permissions to access computer resources. Usually controlled by a User Name and password system. Some very high security systems actually use bio-metrics to establish an identity. The main issue here is to ensure that only those individuals that have the need and the ability to use the resources will gain access to those resources. In the BOINC System the main control element is the Account Key that is issued to you and is used to "unlock" the Project's Web Site to allow you to view and possibly modify your Account Information or User Profile or to post messages in the "General Discussion" Message Boards or the "Questions and Problems" message boards.
The later generation Versions of the BOINC Client Software have a Password feature to protect the access to the BOINC Daemons running on remote machines from improper access.
