Account Data Page
From Unofficial BOINC Wiki
Contents |
[edit] General
What we have here is typical Account Information that is publicly available about a specific Participant. In this case this is information that relates to me. As you can see, I have a URL to my "Home" page and it is available as a link for you to go look at. Since most of this information is optional when you create an account, all I can say is that if you don't want people to know about this stuff, just don't enter any of the data into the "Your Account" Page.
At any rate, this is the information that is publicly available about you, me, or anyone. As you can see in the two examples there are things that you may or may not have in your publicly available data.
One of the privacy choices that you can make is to hide the information about your computers. This means that when another Participant clicks on a link with your name on it, they will see the data that is shown in these two examples. In the first example, you can see that there is a link that allows you to see my computers.
In the second example, you can see that the link is gone and there is just the notation that the information is not available.
[edit] Line by Line
The information that is available is as follows:
[edit] Project member since
In this line the date that I joined the Project is listed.
[edit] Country
In this line, the country that I associated with my Account is listed here. If you don't want to be pinned down, or did not select a country then you can / will have "None" here.
[edit] URL
This is the URL of your personal Web Site (if any). I use my web site at the moment to support this writing project.
[edit] Total credit
This is the current Total Credit earned by this Participant.
[edit] Recent Average Credit
We also call this RAC to seem more cool. The Participant's Recent Average Credit is a value that reflect the processing done for the preceding week or two. This should be a decreasing value, if you are not returning Results but, this feature is not usually supported by the projects because of the "cost" of the data updates.
[edit] SETI@Home Classic Work Units
This is a total of the number of Work Units that you may have processed in SETI@Home Classic Project as a member of that project. If you joined the SETI@Home Project after it became Powered by BOINC, then you will not see this row of data in your account statistics.
- Note:
- The number of Work Units processed for SETI@Home Classic was taken as a "snapshot" and therefore will be out of date. So, if you continue processing work, this number will not change in the immediate future. However, after the SETI@Home Classic Project is closed down this number, and the amount of CPU Time, will be updated with the final total numbers.
[edit] SETI@Home Classic CPU Time
This is a total of the compute time that you may have donated to the SETI@Home Classic Project. If you joined the SETI@Home Project after it became Powered by BOINC, then you will not see this row of data in you account statistics.
[edit] Team
This will contain a link to the Team the Participant belongs to (if any) and clicking on the team's name (in this case "The Planetary Society" link) will take you to the "Team's Description" { Icon, Link to Documentation page. | Icon, Link to Project Web Site. } for the Team you have joined.
[edit] Computers
This takes you to the list of the Participant's Computers. This information can be hidden using an entry in the "Project Preferences" Page.
So, what you will see here is the "View" link which will take you to the list of this Participant's computers when clicked, or the word "hidden". Obviously, if the word "hidden" is there you cannot access the computers belonging to that participant.
[edit] Message board posts
This link (a number, such as "131" that takes you to the most recent posts that this participant has created. This allows you to look at the content of the posts and enables you to zero in on what this Participant has contributed to the "Message Boards" Page.
[edit] Profile
This contains a link named "view" so that you can see my "Profile" Page. Obviously, if you have not created a Profile, the link for a profile will not be shown here when others look at your "Account Data" Page.
Likewise, if they have not created a profile, you will not be able to see it when you view their "Account Data" Page.
