Account Information is that data that a Project, bank, etc. needs to keep on the people that are members of, Participant in, users of, etc. the systems that they maintain. If for no other reason than to mail you a bill (from their perspective the single most important reason). In the case of the BOINC Client Software (or BOINC Powered Project) this is the information that identifies you as an individual and includes the information in your "User Profile".
