Message Type: Error Message
This error means that the BOINC Client Software has detected that:
- Another instance of the BOINC Client Software is running on a separate account on the computer and when you logged in as a user of that machine your log on process tried to start another instance of the BOINC Client Software.
- The BOINC Client Software was not stopped cleanly and that the "Lock File" was not removed when the BOINC Daemon was stopped.
To fix these you may need to reinstall the BOINC Client Software so that only one instance of the BOINC Client Software is started as people log on and off the computer. Or, you may need to make sure that the "Lock File" is removed and from now on you will turn off your computer a little more, um, gracefully.
