Attaching to Account Manager

A BOINC Account Manager is a Web Site that facilitates finding and joining BOINC powered projects and managing all account information that is available to change at BOINC projects' web sites.

Attaching to Account Manager is a simple list of procedures, similar to those of Attaching to a BOINC-Powered Project.

After BOINC is attached to a BOINC Account Manager it can be controlled by accessing Account Manager web site.

[edit] Preparation for attaching to Account Manager

Before you start the procedure of attaching to Account Manager, you must meet the following conditions:

• You must have BOINC installed.
• You must have access to BOINC Manager software and a permission to make changes.
• You must be connected to the Internet.
• Account must have been created at the Account Manager web site.

Note: some Account Managers support account creation using BOINC Manager. Refer to the table above for account availability.

[edit] Open the BOINC Manager

Start the wizard

Open the BOINC Manager window if it is not already open.

If you are continuing from one of the "Install Process" "How-To" Guides, if you followed our suggestion, the BOINC Manager's window should be open.

[edit] Open the "Tools" menu of the BOINC Manager

Click on "Tools".

[edit] Click the "Account Manager" item

In the menu there is an item labeled as "Account Manager", click it to open the "Attach to Account Manager" wizard.

The first page of the wizard just describes what you are about to do.

Click "Next >".

Entering the URL of Account Manager

Click in the field named "Account Manager URL" and type the Account Manager address or paste it there. Use Control-"V" (Microsoft Windows®) or Command-"V" (Apple Macintosh OS-X). You can get Account Manager URL from the table above.

Click "Next >".

Wait for the communication between the BOINC client software and the Account Manager

Wait while this communicating message is displayed. The BOINC Client Software must obtain some information from the Account Manager.

Entering your account information

If you have already created an account at the Account Manager web site, you can now enter your user name and password that was used during the account creation.

Once you have entered the correct details, click "Next >".
