Message Type: Information Message

This Message means that the BOINC Client Software was installed as a Daemon (or for Microsoft Windows®, a "service") and will not have all of the available operational capabilities as other installation types. Most specifically the BOINC Daemon will not be able to output any graphics.

The positive side to this installation method is that the Daemon will run as soon as the Participant's Computer has completed its boot-up process even if no one logs onto an account on that computer. The other installation types will require a that a person logs onto the computer before the BOINC Client Software will begin to operate.

[edit] Version Information

  • None.
