Back-End Process

A process that runs on a system that is not directly connected to the Participants. In the case of the BOINC System, these are the Daemons that are running on the Servers that perform the interactions with the BOINC Database and the scientific processing after the Results of a processed Work Unit is returned to the Project.

A Back-End Process is almost always run on a Back-End Server.
