Farm
From Unofficial BOINC Wiki
[edit] General
A slang term for a collection of computers used to perform a specific or general task. In general, a typical configuration of the computers in this "Farm" will be similar or at least of a common architecture. Note, however, that the Farm does not have to be homogeneous to qualify. Typically this term is used in conjunction with a person participating in the SETI@Home Classic, or now a Participant using the BOINC Client Software, who is also a "Cruncher".
A "farm's" component computers may be geographically close or not. In other words, the Farm's owner may have them all at his house, his office, or both.
A small "farm" is sometimes called a "garden". There are no specific numbers of computers attached to either term. One person might call his three computers a farm - but those with 20 or 30 would just laugh.
