[edit] General

The ability to access and communicate on the Internet, usually through an "Internet Service Provider" (ISP). This connectivity can be made through Dial-Up Access, Cable Modem, or Digital Subscriber Line (DSL).

Though the BOINC System, most specifically the BOINC Client Software operates "best" when there is an "always-on" access, it is not a mandatory requirement. Dial-Up connections are perfectly suitable for connections between your computer and the Servers of a BOINC Powered Project.
