LHC@Home
LHC@Home - http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/ - The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is a particle accelerator which is being built at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, the world's largest particle physics laboratory. When it will switch on in 2008, it will be the most powerful instrument ever built to investigate on particles proprieties.

[edit] General

LHC@Home is a research program that uses the idle computers of individuals and corporations to perform a massive amount of processing of Work Units while modeling the actions of and improving the design of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.

Sixtrack will need to be run for the design phase of the Large Hadron Collider, which is planned to go into operation in 2007. Sixtrack will the move to a support phase for the Large Hadron Collider, where it will run studies while the Large Hadron Collider is in operation.

In the meantime we are looking for more applications to run on LHC@Home. The best candidate at the moment is Geant4.
