This Server coordinates the work that is issued to make the best use of the computers available to process the work that is ready for issue. This is a Project specific server.

Interaction between the Scheduling Server and the Participant's Host is through Message passing operations with XML-Format Messages being exchanged during communication sessions. The Scheduling Server may be contacted "manually" by the Participant using the Update Project Operation or automatically by the BOINC Daemon when one of the following occurs:

The Scheduling Server is also the name that can be given to the Server that hosts the Scheduler Process.

    • This is nothing more than a possessive form of the term, obviously meaning that the specific Scheduling Server that belongs to the Project which may be expressly named or implied by the context of the sentence.
