Screen Saver & Graphics Display - LHC@Home
From Unofficial BOINC Wiki
[edit] General
The Screensaver and graphics module for the LHC@Home Project. This, of course, is the default display for the Science Application.
The little "fire-fly" lights are supposed to be the actual particles being modeled as they wing their way around the collider.
I am not so sure about that, they look drunk to me …
At the bottom, the number of turns to be taken, and the number of terms already completed are shown in the light bar at the bottom. As the model completes a calculation the values go up.
The model intervals start at 10,000 turns, then there are the 100,000 turn models, and last, but certainly not least, are the 1,000,000 turn models.
In the technical information about this Screen Saver there is a note that this is a "synthetic" display of information and it does not reflect the actual work in progress by the Science Application.
