Message Type: Status Message
This message means that the BOINC Client Software indicates that the Result Data File is being uploaded to the Project's Data Server. This is the first step in the reporting process where the actual result data is returned to the Project. When the Project's Scheduling Server is contacted, this Result along with all of the other Results will be reported and your Claimed Credit for this Result is submitted.

- The measured speed of transfer, in this case was 41,000 bytes per second. This is a fairly high rate of data transfer and is possible as I have a Cable Modem and an "always-on" Internet connection.

- The BOINC Daemon initiated an upload action with the SETI@Home Project's Data Server.
- Trouble! The BOINC Daemon waited for the time allowed, but did not receive a reply so this attempt is halted.
- Now we use Exponential Back-Off to calculate a time interval to wait before attempting to make another try to upload the file to the Project's Data Server.
- Some time later ...
- Started upload of '(file)'
- The BOINC Daemon initiated an upload action with the SETI@Home Project's Data Server.
- Success!!! The BOINC Daemon completed the data transfer to the Project's Data Server.

[edit] Permanently Failed Upload of File
This error means that the BOINC Client Software when it uploaded the Result Data File to the Project's Data Server the Signature did not validate. Because of this the file is considered corrupted and a security risk.
Because of the security implications, the file will not be accepted and it is rejected and immediately deleted from the Data Server.
One of the minor interesting items in this message display is the fact that you can see that two upload threads are run and because they fail at different rates, the messages become interleaved. In a specific example, fine #1 and #2 are started, #1 fails and #3 is started before #2 fails. Hey, sometimes I get bored with this stuff and wonder if anyone reads any of it at all.

Line-By-Line Explanation
- We restart a Result that has already been partially processed.
- The Science Application has "crashed" and stopped processing the Result/Work Unit.
- Because the Science Application ended processing (it "crashed"), we need to start up another Result.
- Because of the "crash" the current Result has been halted. This Result, when the Reporting Process is complete will be recorded with an Outcome of "Client Error".

- We start to upload two of the 5 Result Data Files.
- We will continue to attempt to upload the other Result Data Files in turn, each will fail upload with the following sequence of messages ...
- The Signature of the Result Data File is incorrect.
- Because of the invalid signature, this Result Data File cannot be accepted by the Data Server.
- The Data Server rejected the file because of the invalid Signature and we cannot assign a different signature, so abandon the attempt to upload the file.
