That individual, or group of individuals, that are charged with the responsibilities of making sure that the computer system is maintained and managed. They are responsible for making system Back-Up images, creating and removing accounts, performing system maintenance, assigning Access Rights, and turning the lights off at night.
All this, and they get paid too. Oh, if the computer goes down for any reason, they are the ones that get blamed. Regardless of the cause. If they are good, you never notice their presence because the computers never fail, no file ever gets lost, and no one gains access to places they should not. Truly unsung heroes; the good ones I mean. The sad thing is that good System Administrators are hard to find.
