Problem with Boinc / Windows Vista, not saving work in progress

I was having trouble with Boinc reporting 100% completed after shutting down, restarting my computer, even though before shutting down the W U was much less than 100%, sometimes as little as 16 % completed, resulting in a client error message, however last time I had to shut down, I first right clicked on the Boinc manager in the tools tray and then clicked on exit, this seems to have saved the WU in progress, so that I was able to properly complete it. I have only tried this once but I hope it is a solution that is helpful to others
