A text style address for computers on the Internet. A URL is a global address which identifies the Protocol to be used and the resource (Server and location of the content on that server) to be retrieved. The most common protocol used with URLs is HTTP which enables connections to Web Servers on the World Wide Web via a Web Browser. Another protocol used is FTP for accessing files.
