[edit] General, Background & Community Involvement

See my Wikipedia User page for a more general profile.

My full name is Lee Carré (or Lee Carre - without the accent due to character encoding issues).

Many of you may know me from the various BOINC related forums (including BoincView and BOINCstats).

I also maintain a list of BOINC related Firefox Search Plugins including one for the BOINC Wiki, which enable Firefox users to search various sites from within firefox (using the search box at the top right of the window).

[edit] Experience

I started SETI@Home on the 21st of April 2000, and according to my BOINC SETI account i did 1,730 workunits untill i stopped running classic to join BOINC around June 2004 (when it was opened to the general public/community), I continue to actively crunch for many projects including: Climateprediction.net, CPDN Seasonal Attribution, Einstein@Home, LHC@Home, Rosetta@Home, SETI@Home, SIMAP@Home, SZTAKI Desktop Grid, BURP, Chess960@Home, HashClash, Leiden Classical, PrimeGrid, QMC@Home, RALPH@Home, uFluids@Home, XtremLab and the SETI@Home Beta Test.

My stats are available at BOINCstats.

I try to maintain an active involvement in the general BOINC community, helping where i can. I believe in making things better.

My experience as far as computers are concerned is mainly with hardware, networking, system/server configuration (setting up a corporate network for example) and standards-based web development. I'm most familiar with Microsoft Windows®, however have used Mac OS 9 and OS-X. I've yet to do anything with Linux, but it's on my "To Do" list (along with many other things, like improving the BOINC web code)

[edit] Currently Working On

At the time of writing I'm still new to the BOINC Wiki, but currently I'm working on:

The BoincView Installation and Set-Up Guide i wrote which was added by Paul a while ago the original is on the SETI forum, however it was writen on the fly to help a user, but it's of poor quality and not up to Wiki standards, so i'm attempting to improve it, involving a huge re-write and re-organisation to make it easier to follow, and I'll be adding screenshots eventually.

In general i plan to improve the networking related articles, especially the troubleshooting ones, and add a Guide to Using Ethereal page for those interested in what BOINC is sending over their network.
