BOINC is an Open Source project with many developers from all around the world working on it. The project is based at the Space Sciences Laboratory at the University of California, Berkeley.

Paul D. Buck has spearheaded the documentation project for BOINC. Initially he ran the BOINC FAQ on his personal webspace, but has since begun migrating over the FAQ information as well as the actual BOINC project documentation to a wiki format to allow more people to more easily keep the documentation up with the fast-paced project.
