A donated portion of a Participant's hard drive storage that has been designated as being usable by the BOINC Client Software as archival storage for Project data. The usage of this area is designated by a positive action on the part of the user and the permission to use that storage space can be revoked at anytime by the user. At no time will the BOINC Client Software allocate space for use as storage beyond what is needed to cache Work Units, intermediate Result Data Files or the final Result Data Files.
