Web Server

This is a Server that has the function of creating and managing the activities that produce what we perceive as a Web Site. This sever may interact with a Database Server to obtain the most current information, a File Server to send data files, like the last time you downloaded a program update, the Web Server almost certainly passed you off to a File Server or a FTP Server. Because of the work behind the scenes is hidden, you may never realize the complexities of the systems that we interface with all the time.

  • This is nothing more than a possessive form of the term, obviously meaning that the specific Web Server that belongs to the Project which may be expressly named or implied by the context of the sentence.
